at play near the groin

At play near the groinSorry but I have distinct memories of being told NOT to play near the groin.

So what the f***’s going on here then?

This is quite clearly a breach of the ‘not near the groin’ rule.

Cool shadesGrandad looking pretty pleased with himself in his cool shades. Nanny, Mum (and someone else) attend to his every need.

fallen tree with lil and fredAuntie Lil, Uncle Fred, James and Dad by a fallen tree. I thought at first it might have been that great old hollow tree stump in Bushy Park, but now I’m not so sure – there’s a see-saw in the background, and houses too, so it must be somewhere else I think.

Nice to see both Dad and Aunt Lil wafting cigarette smoke close to a child. Those were the days.

mike third birthdaySlightly overwhelmed by the occasion (as usual) I present my third birthday cake to the camera. Note in the backgound you can see the Librenza in all its original glory. Also the matching G-Plan coffee table. (more…)

mum at work

mum at workThis was some kind of publicity shot for the Post Office by all accounts. Anyway, there’s Mum operating some kind of new-fangled counting machine in a drab and fairly Orwelling setting. The machine is an Underwood Sundstrand adding/accounting machine. I haven’t had much luck tracking down the exact model on Google despite having spent the best part of 30 seconds searching. So we may never know.

dad and POWs again

This is filed under family, old photos and has been tagged

dad and POWs againI think these must be a couple of POWs too, judging by the fact that they’re not in uniform, and not smiling quite so much.
Dad is second from the right with the slightly less jaunty of the two berets.
