fallen tree with lil and fredAuntie Lil, Uncle Fred, James and Dad by a fallen tree. I thought at first it might have been that great old hollow tree stump in Bushy Park, but now I’m not so sure – there’s a see-saw in the background, and houses too, so it must be somewhere else I think.

Nice to see both Dad and Aunt Lil wafting cigarette smoke close to a child. Those were the days.

mum at work

mum at workThis was some kind of publicity shot for the Post Office by all accounts. Anyway, there’s Mum operating some kind of new-fangled counting machine in a drab and fairly Orwelling setting. The machine is an Underwood Sundstrand adding/accounting machine. I haven’t had much luck tracking down the exact model on Google despite having spent the best part of 30 seconds searching. So we may never know.
